I don't know about you, but cheap, delicious street food has always been one of my favorite things about traveling to Thailand. But now it looks like some of the best food in Bangkok will be gone for good.
On Tuesday, city officials announced a "clean-up" effort that will ban all street food vendors from the main roads by the end of the year!
"Order and hygiene" is the official reason for the move, and vendors have already been forced out of the trendy Thonglor district. Chinatown and Khao San Road are next on the list.
Bangkok is considered one of the world's best cities for street food and is home to more than 12,000 street food vendors. And it is unclear where they will go after they are forced to move. Many of the vendors cannot afford to pay rent prices in Bangkok.
So, if you have a special place in your heart for Thai street food, you might want to hurry and pencil in another trip before some of your favorite Bangkok street eats are gone for good.

This is a sad day for cheap eats so give us some good news: what's the best street food you've encountered on your travels?
