The Okanagan Food and Wine Writer Workshop, created and hosted by Edmonton food writer Jennifer Cockrall-King, is inspiring for food and travel writers who long to hone their skills while sampling some of the best food and drink the Okanagan has to offer.

The seventh-annual workshop takes place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2 in Kelowna at the Manteo Resort. It's open to writers of all levels and combines teaching sessions by leading food and travel writers, and editors with food and wine experiences.

Jill Foran, editor of WestJet Magazine, is already on board as a workshop presenter, as is Margo True, food editor of Sunset Magazine. Other presenters will be announced soon.

Students balance classroom time with visits to restaurants, food shops and wineries. As a part-time Okanagan resident and author of Food Artisans of the Okanagan, Cockrall-King is perfectly situated to provide an enriching and delicious experience for workshop participants.

An early bird price of $695 per person is available until Aug. 25, when the price goes to $795. The fee includes all professional development sessions, breakfasts, special lunches, touring during the workshop and incredible winemaker dinners. You can register on Eventbrite.
